Stok Kangri

Stok Kangri is the highest mountain in the Stok Range at (6,154 metres (20,190 ft)) of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region of north-west India. The peak is located in the village of Stok and around 15 km southwest of the city of Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Ladakh is located in the northern state of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, India and is famous for compassion and support of its residents. Over the last few years, Stok Kangri has become tremendously popular amongst trekking and novice mountaineering and tourist coming from all over the world.   • Day 1 : Arrival at Leh Airport. Rest for acclimatization
    Coming straight to the altitude of min 3,200 m from a much lower place can cause some health problems. So to avoid that, we suggest our client to take complete day rest to get acclimatized. In evening there will be a briefing of the program by the agent or by the company representative. O/N in Hotel
  • Day 2 :Sightseeing in Leh
    After breakfast is good to get out doing some sightseeing because you are already acclimatized. So we will start by visiting Hemis Monastery and Thiksey monastery at first and then Stok palace after a hot lunch at Chamba restaurant. O/N in Hotel
  • Day 3 : Leh to Mankarmo (4,900m), 4-5 hrs
    Early morning pick up by a jeep and drive to Stok village which is around half an hour drive and then start the trek .Overnight stay in alpine tents at Mankarmo camp site. O/N in Camp
  • Day 4 : Mankarmo to Base Camp (5,000m), 3-4hrs
    We will make an early start and reach base camp with still most of the day to rest. And then we will have lunch and take a short climb from base camp for better acclimatization. We will climb a further 100 m and then get back down again to get an early night in preparation for tomorrow's summit attempt. O/N in Camp
  • Day 5 : Base Camp to Summit (6,153m),9-10hrs and Back to the Base/Mankarmo
    We will start our climbing in the early hours of the morning to avail of the best weather conditions and a possible sunrise at the summit. First we climb onto a hill which leads to a large glacier. After crossing the glacier we ascend steeply to the summit. This last leg is the most challenging and takes a lot of physical and mental strength. The spectacular view from the summit is second to none. To the north-west the Karakoram Range, including K2 8,611 mt (28,251 ft), seems endless. One can also see the Zanskar Range. O/N in Camp
  • Day 6 :Mankarmo to Stok village and then to Leh
    From base camp we descend all the way to Stok village. This is a great walk passing by various ruins of old forts and castles. It takes about 5-6 hours to reach Stok village where we are met by waiting vehicles. We then drive one hour back to Leh. Enjoy and celebrate the evening. O/N in Hotel
  • Day 7 :Free day
    Today, is a free day to do anything like shopping or visiting Shanti Stupa. Evening cultural show will be presented on demand. O/N in Hotel
  • Day 8 :Departure (End of the Tour)
    Morning after breakfast, transfer to the Leh airport for your flight to Delhi. It is a fantastic flight of one hour by around noon you reach to your Delhi hotel. If time allows, we can also organize a small sightseeing in Delhi
